Introduction

We spend hundreds of hours researching the best HR and recruiting software so you don’t have to. We never take money from vendors during our research phase and rely heavily on practitioners and experts to help us recommend the right software. However we may earn a small fee if you click on vendor links on this page.
ModernLoop stood out in our tests as a powerful tool for automating and optimizing recruiters’ interview scheduling workflows. Its Zero-Click Scheduling, Candidate Portal, and interviewer training support make it an excellent choice for companies that want to reduce scheduling time and improve the candidate experience.

If you’ve ever spent hours coordinating interviews, juggling calendars, and chasing down availability, you know how frustrating scheduling can be. ModernLoop promises to take that pain away with behind-the-scenes automation, and after testing it ourselves, we can confirm it delivers.
Zero-Click Scheduling impressed us the most. As soon as a candidate reaches a certain stage in your ATS, this feature automatically coordinates interviews, selects available interviewers, and sends out invites.
For example, when we moved a test candidate to the onsite interview stage in Greenhouse, ModernLoop instantly sent a scheduling request, pulled in the candidate’s availability, and integrated everything into the interview workflow. It even created a Slack channel to keep everyone aligned.
We also loved the Candidate Portal, a branded hub where applicants can check their interview schedule, access company information, and track the next steps. This transparency improves the candidate experience significantly—after all, no one likes being left in the dark about their hiring status.
For teams struggling with overbooking or untrained interviewers, ModernLoop has a smart solution. Its Interviewer Training feature tracks interviewer readiness, ensuring only certified interviewers are scheduled. If someone hasn’t completed their training, the system flags it and suggests a replacement, preventing delays and reducing interviewer burnout. This is particularly valuable for fast-growing teams that need to scale without sacrificing consistency in their hiring process.
That said, there were a few limitations worth calling out. First, it’s only available in English, which might be a dealbreaker if you’re hiring across multiple languages. Given how much emphasis the platform puts on candidate experience, we hope to see the vendor provide multilingual support soon.
Another downside is that not every ATS is supported. ModernLoop works well with Greenhouse, Workday, and Lever, but it doesn’t integrate with some others like BambooHR or Workable.
Lastly, it’s not very budget-friendly either. With pricing starting at $6K per year for companies under 250 employees and no free trial, it’s not the best option for those looking for a low-cost (or free) scheduling tool. To be fair, though, for high-volume hiring teams drowning in coordination tasks, the time savings could easily justify the cost.

ModernLoop's customer list includes Instacart, Dropbox, Figma, Brex, and Carta.
ModernLoop's pricing is custom. As a reference, small to medium-sized businesses with less than 250 employees can expect to pay between $6,000 and $20,000 annually, while for larger companies with over 10,000 employees, pricing can range from $20,000 to over $100,000.
ModernLoop is ideal for companies with over 100 employees that need to streamline a high volume of interviews.
