One particularly appealing feature is the availability of experts in each region they operate. Sometimes, only a local will do this when it comes to the complex standards and customs of local laws and practices, and they have assured that resource is available to their customers by offering local support in each of the 60+ countries in which they operate. According to our research, the majority of Remote users who contacted these local experts for support were pleased with the service. Users also had positive feedback about Remote’s technical support.
Remote can be a sound option for effective global onboarding, whether you want to establish a new branch or employ one person in a different country. It has a dedicated self-service portal to keep workers connected. It provides robust data protection and security.

I use remote.com to hire contractors in multiple countries for our company. Once we find a candidate we want to hire, we send an offer letter and start the onboarding process in remote.com. Employees create their invoices at the end of the month and we complete payment through remote.com immediately.

As a small organization we were looking to hire many contractors in various countries. Remote.com is extremely easy to use and makes hiring internationally simple. I have been using Remote.com since March 2023.

We use Trainual to create policies and procedures for our startup clients who need onboarding assistance. We collect workflow information from them and document it using Trainual templates. We also use Trainual internally for onboarding. Once we hire an employee, we use our BambooHR integration to create a Trainual account for the new hire. We issue onboarding documents and track who has viewed and signed them.
I like that Trainual is a centralized document repository that integrates with our existing tools, such as BambooHR and QuickBooks. We also appreciate the workflow automation it provides. Above all, we find the templates very helpful. We don't have to create policies and procedures from scratch, which saves us a lot of time.

But what really sealed the deal for us in recommending Deel in this guide is its flexibility and remote team focus. The tool works for various types of international workers, and it even lets you onboard new hires directly in Slack.

As a distributed team, we have a special appreciation for Deel's completely free onboarding tool. It caters to pretty much any hiring need you might have: EOR workers, PEO hires, full-time salaried employees, or even independent contractors. And more importantly, the tool does that nicely, with transparency and flexibility being the highlights.
When we logged into Deel with an employer account, we were greeted right away with the onboarding progress of all our workers. We could instantly see who was missing what from their checklists (see screenshot). It makes it so easy to stay on top of the onboarding status and spot areas where we should simplify to better the new hire experience.
Digging deeper into the app, the level of transparency Deel provided users truly stood out to us. With a click on a worker, we could view more detailed information about how they were in their onboarding checklist: what's been done and what's still pending. And if it looked like they needed a nudge to finish up their tasks, sending them a reminder was just a button click away.
The Onboarding by Deel plugin is such a convenient tool. After we set up workflows for each department and location, the plugin automatically segmented and sent onboarding notifications and reminders directly to new hires through Slack. We could even monitor everyone's progress without leaving the comms app.
We wish this tool were more approachable, though. With the current pricing structure, Deel’s onboarding is part of its HR software and is only available to those using other Deel products, such as EOR and PEO. So, even if you’re willing to pay for this tool separately, that's not an option.

Through iterative improvements and testing in controlled environments, I created smoother processes that supported efficient task completion. Regarding Rippling, I appreciated its all-in-one capabilities. Another aspect I appreciated was their continuous development of new features. It also provides excellent compliance and management tools. The system's integration with other HR and IT tools is helpful for centralized management.
I assisted with implementing Rippling at the company where it was utilized and had signed on prior to my joining. Initially, they integrated it for approximately 3-6 months, followed by another 9 months, and continue to use it. Their objective was to streamline processes related to onboarding, HR, Carta, and IT solutions. Having multiple HR personnel benefits from its consolidated system, although updating information on one page may necessitate adjustments across other workflows, requiring careful attention. It also has the potential to add benefits and payroll, which are good options if required.
Factors to consider include the investment in financial resources, time from HR representatives, and overall resources dedicated to the software's success. It is crucial to have someone overseeing the broader strategic view and a team to manage the system comprehensively, including regular audits. I used ClearCompany as an applicant tracking system from requisition inception to candidate start date. One of the features that ClearCompany provided was onboarding tools and performance management. Unlike other ATSs, ClearCompany was a one-stop shop for all things talent acquisition and HR.
It is a one-stop shop that makes it easy for the recruiting team and HR team to communicate and see where every candidate is in the hiring process. ClearCompany also has LinkedIn integration, which is very valuable for the talent acquisition department. The base price is inexpensive, but addons will increase the price depending on company needs.
ClearCompany was an easy choice for one of the small clients I supported in the US. They were looking for an inexpensive applicant tracking system to manage candidate steps and statuses. I have used ClearCompany for one year. In addition to an ATS, ClearCompany also provided employment verification and background checks post-offer.
The interview scorecards were not user-friendly for recruiters. The pricing was a bit unclear as to what is included and what is an upgrade. The reporting of recruiting metrics was limited.
In terms of ease of use, it is very easy to navigate. I prefer more detailed systems such as Taleo, SuccessFactors, and Workday as their capabilities have no end. ClearCompany is an average ATS with a slight edge for the onboarding and performance management tools also included.
