Hireflix Review

Getting started with Hireflix’s trial was a breeze — you create your account with your name, company name, your email, and that’s good to go. The trial comes with a lot of flexibility right off the bat: unlimited jobs, team members, and interview themes. Plus, they support over 20 languages, catering to a diverse user base.

What stood out most to us was the branding options. We could customize brand colors, logos, and intro/outro videos. This touch of personalization is perfect for recruiting agencies and other teams handling multiple brands.

The pre-built templates for email, SMS, and WhatsApp were handy. We could easily utilize them or create our own templates (except for WhatsApp, where we had to contact the Hireflix team).

Here's a differentiating feature: whenever a new position was created, Hireflix would automatically communicate with candidates. From invitations to reminders and post-interview communications, they had all the bases covered.

The search bar made finding candidates and positions easy, and the support was top-notch. Besides the pre-built help documentation, the live chat support was managed by real people who were quick to lend a helping hand.

As evaluators, we could rate, comment, and review candidate answers at different speeds and access automatic transcriptions and downloadable videos.

However, Hireflix only supports video questions. We couldn't use other question formats like file uploads, text, audio, or multiple choice. There are no online interview instructions for candidates or the option to gather post-interview candidate feedback.

It’s also worth mentioning that Hireflix only offers one-way video interviews, and the above robust features are only free for 30 days, not forever.

I use Hireflix extensively throughout the initial stages of our hiring process. Every day, I start by uploading a series of one-way video interview questions tailored to the specific role we are hiring for. These questions are designed to assess key skills and attitudes. Once the questions are set up, I send out interview invitations to the candidates who have passed the initial resume screening. Throughout the day, I review the responses as they come in, taking notes on each candidate's performance. This allows me to evaluate multiple candidates simultaneously without the need for scheduling live interviews, saving significant time. The recorded responses enable me to revisit and compare candidate answers easily. By the end of the day, I shortlist the most promising candidates for the next stage of live interviews or other assessments.

What do you like about this tool?

I appreciate the asynchronous flexibility, allowing candidates to complete interviews at their convenience, making the process more accommodating. It significantly reduces the time spent on initial screenings by enabling us to review candidate responses on our own schedule, which has been a major time-saver. The user-friendly interface is excellent. We can brand everything, making for a professional presentation to potential candidates.

I bought Hireflix because we needed to screen a large number of candidates quickly. As the sole person responsible for recruitment, I required a tool that could handle initial interviews on my behalf, saving time and resources. Hireflix provided a one-way video interview feature that allowed candidates to respond at their convenience, which significantly streamlined the process and helped meet initially unrealistic deadlines. Automating the initial interview phase saved a lot of time and offered flexibility for both candidates and me. I have personally used Hireflix for two years, and it has been instrumental in managing high-volume recruitment efficiently, ultimately saving both time and money.

We also found the branding features basic yet praiseworthy: you can customize the job post's header, footer, button, and logo with your brand colors.

Willo’s questions can be in video, audio, text, and file forms. And we love the current shape of the platform’s customization. Compared to Recright’s free plan, Willo users can personalize emails sent to candidates with variables, text formatting, and styles. They can even utilize pre-existing templates or create their own.

Candidates using Willo are not required to download any apps and can quickly test their tech and practice before real interviews. At the end of the interview, they can provide feedback and share their availability, simplifying scheduling for recruiters.

Regarding collaboration, while adding users and leaving notes on candidates’ answers are only for paid plans, free users can generate shareable links and even share specific questions — a feature that sets Willo apart from its competitors. The video playback options, ranging from 0.5x to 2x speed, are also on the house.

However, as a free user, you are capped at one job and ten monthly interviews without access to the Identity Check feature and integrations. You can only set the job to last forever or no more than one month. Lastly, Willo's lifecycle policy automatically removes interview media after six months, but thankfully, candidates' answers can be downloaded for safekeeping.

We use Willo as part of our interviewing process. Typically we set a Willo interview at the first stage, as part of screening candidates.

What do you like about this tool?

It's really user friendly and easy to roll out to multiple members of the team. It has saved the team so much time, not having to phone screen has made the process smoother for everyone involved. With the use of video interviewing it means our hiring managers can start to get move involved in the recruitment process and make it a much more collaborative experience. The Willo team are ALWAYS on hand for any issues or questions the team may have.

Why did your organization buy this tool, and how long have you used it for?

We brought Willo to help us manage high volume recruitment, specifically at an early careers level. We have used it for over a year.

What do you dislike about this tool?

This is a tough one as Willo is so user friendly there aren't many cons. I suppose for us as a business we would like to see how Willo can explore more options to be used at a more senior level. Would be nice if when you press reject or accept comms was sent to the candidate.

How is this tool different than their competitors?

Willo is by far the best tool I have used for video interviewing, for me it's so easy to use (especially for someone not very tech savvy) and means I can include more of my hiring team with recruitment.

What Instructions should people think about when buying this type of tool?

Think about what they actually need Willo to do, where are their biggest pain points and most time consuming tasks. For us as a business we were spending a lot of time phone screening which is how Willo came to reduce time spent and gave us so much time back to be able to improve other areas of the process.

How has this tool changed or evolved over time to meet users needs?

Willo has become much more diverse, with different languages being added, as well as features such as recording without video and text answers. This makes it much more user friendly for those who don't always feel comfortable with video interviews.

Businesses with high volume recruitment, as well as those looking to add a personal touch to their recruitment process.

What specific type of user or organization would this tool not be a good fit for?

Maybe start up companies, where not as many people are aware of the company. I think for these companies it is easier for a recruiter to speak to the candidates directly about what the company is about and have an open dialogue.

During the trial, you get to explore both one-way and live interviews, along with a native scheduling tool. Multiple question types? The software does check off this box. You can add text, video, and resume uploading questions. They even have a pre-built one-way video question bank you can use.

Another thing we like about Spark Hire is their multi-time zone 24/7 support. Customer representatives are available in the US, UK, Australia, and the Philippines. This makes you feel assured that assistance is there when needed. Plus, the platform is mobile-optimized, so there is no need to download an app to access interviews.

Next plus: a mock test allows candidates to familiarize themselves with the platform beforehand. But what impresses us more is that, in addition to rating their experience, candidates can provide more detailed feedback in written form once their interviews are over, not just a thumbs up or down.

Spark Hire's integrations are in good shape, with 45+ options available, and they're even working on adding their own ATS. Tagging colleagues for collaboration is fairly straightforward. It’s also lovely that the platform keeps interview ratings confidential until everyone has given their feedback to ensure there’s no influence or bias, which is a feature that few competitors offer.

However, to access the free trial you must provide a work email, phone number, and attend a 1-hour demo with their team — we were expecting something simpler. Additionally, the platform currently only supports English, and auto video transcription is not available yet, although they have plans to add it in the future.

Our company invested in SparkHire to address several issues in our hiring process. Before SparkHire, scheduling interviews often caused delays and made it difficult to connect with potential hires. The interview process took longer for both hiring managers and job seekers due to the challenge of matching schedules, which extended the time to bring someone on board. We chose SparkHire to simplify and speed up our hiring process.

Their video interview system allows candidates to answer questions at their convenience. Once a question is ready and shown, candidates can record their answers when it suits them. This has reduced the paperwork around hiring and significantly sped up our hiring process. The option to share interview recordings helps hiring teams collaborate and make decisions more effectively.

I've been using SparkHire for over two years. During this time, I've seen significant improvements. The candidate experience has improved with video interviews, making the process easier and more flexible. Recright’s instructions provided through help docs, videos, and onboarding emails made navigation easy. We also found the "Introduce" helpful: we can invite one or multiple recipients to assess one or multiple candidates within a few minutes. The only drawback is its email customization capabilities. You either have to send each email to each candidate for email personalization (as there are no variables to use) or send bulk emails without mentioning their names. You can’t style or format your text either.

Customization options are available but pretty basic. You can adjust the head banner image, language, logo, and question types. But for more advanced customization, you'll need to purchase the Enterprise plan.

Recright caters to candidates in 26 languages and recruiters in 10+ languages. And we were relieved to see that they hold certifications like ISO/IEC 27001:2013 and comply with WCAG and GDPR standards, ensuring data security and accessibility.

Zoom is used for our organization's virtual meetings on a daily basis. We use Zoom for internal and external communication. It is very reliable for calls, meetings, calendar reminders and even call queues. Zoom has allowed us to continue to work in a hybrid work environment with limited interruptions.

I like that the Zoom platform is user-friendly and easily accessible through web or mobile apps. The reminders of upcoming meetings are extremely helpful for when I am zoned in and lose track of time. It has also provided us with the flexibility needed to remain hybrid and collaborate internally and externally.

Prior to 2019 we only used Zoom for virtual meetings. At the end of 2019 we transitioned to the full platform. One con to Zoom is the inability to fax directly from the platform. They have created an integration, but this requires an add-on feature that I believe is separate from the platform itself. Another con which is outside of their control is that it is internet based and if you don’t have good service your call/meeting may get dropped. (this is outside of their control)

Compared to the platform we previously used, zoom has more features and is easier to use. Being able to have our phone system and meeting platforms combined provides ease for our staff. Our staff can now use one app versus two which is what they were previously doing. Zoom also continues to come out with more features that are extremely helpful. I use Skype several times a week. I have video conferencing meetings with my team members at any given time. The chat messaging section has helped me keep in touch with the members of my organization across different departments. One receives the message real quickly and can respond to it almost instantly. Again, I can have a video chat with a customer and be able to assist to the best of my ability. Tools such as call recording and language translation have made the communication process very seamless. If one is unable to join the meeting, they'll get the recording and act upon it if need be.
