We had used Motivosity to promote events in the community. We also used it to facilitate Employee Giving (i.e. Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico several years ago). During the pandemic, it was leveraged especially to lean into our Employee Resource Groups. We used it to focus on specific dates on the calendar, such as Veteran's Day, Juneteenth, and International Women's Day. We also used this platform to encourage Employees to take the Employee Experience Survey.
Clean Interface. Multi-faceted and easy-to-use
Our organization bought Motivosity as part of our strategy for Corporate Social Responsibility. A discovery from our Employee Experience survey showed that there was an interest in our employees who wanted to give back to the community.

As we explored the platform further, we noted how seriously Workleap takes feedback anonymity. In our testing, it was clear that the system ensures true anonymity by requiring a minimum of five responses before the survey manager can access any feedback.
Recently, we also tried out the new Good Vibes recognition feature, which allows for even more employee acknowledgment through e-cards. It was satisfying to see how this feature not only enabled colleagues to recognize one another but also provided managers with valuable insights into what kinds of recognition were most impactful.
However, there were a few cons we encountered. The most critical perhaps was that while creating OKRs in Workleap was easy, adjusting them was not.
While the Good Vibes feature is a nice touch, we can’t help but feel the absence of an option for public praise is a missed opportunity to foster a more open culture of recognition.

The key workflows we used for CultureAmp would be for our Quarterly employee engagement survey, pulse surveys, and DEI engagement surveys. Once the survey campaign is activated, we live in the data to set goals for the upcoming quarter around engagement metrics from the top level down. We also used the privacy preferences so that managers are able to see into their own org. They take their survey privacy very seriously, which creates a much more equitable and honest survey experience.

Fortunately and unfortunately, I have not used other engagement survey tools. I've used add-on services that generally do pulse surveys like Paylocity or Google Sheets. CultureAmp is definitely the best-in-class system around engagement surveys, and beyond. It's the most comprehensive survey tool that allows you to really get into the depths of the data and recommendations on how to use the data to make impactful decisions to move your organization forward. As an HR professional, it truly is valuable data that no other system has been able to do as well as CultureAmp.
Budget is definitely important to think about. We also used some of the add-on performance management add-on. It's not the cheapest platform and can cost as much as an HRIS sometimes ( but it's extremely worth it).
Additional Add-ons: Depending on already existing systems, some of the add-on functionalities like performance management tracking, OKR tracking, etc. could be redundant. It's important to think about what you want to use CultureAmp for, and what you want to keep within your HRIS.

I would say that it's best for companies with over 50+ employees. The earlier the better to really get a good data set going, but 50 + is probably most ideal for the functionalities outside of engagement surveys. I also believe it's for progressive organizations that really care about the culture and employees and take action.
It would not be a good fit for a very small org under 50 employees because I think the ROI might be a bit too pricey for the number of employees and data sets you'll get. Also, it's an expensive system to keep alive if you just do surveys just to get data. You can definitely use Google Surveys for that. Make sure you take advantage of the recommendations, and modules, to move the org forward.
Kudos

We use the points to issue to team members. Team members can then send points to each other as a show of appreciation. This can be for providing good ideas during a meeting or helping out on a project. Employees can use the earned points for rewards like gift cards. We also use the awards feature for different company and department recognition across the board.
I like the awards feature because you can customize the categories to the company. The platform is easy to use and navigate, which makes the learning curve manageable. Recognition can be sent with or without points, so it doesn't limit employees in showing gratitude.
The client bought Kudos because they wanted a different way of recognizing and incentivizing team members. There wasn't a clear method for recognizing employees. We were also looking to find motivating initiatives to make recognition a part of the everyday culture. Kudos allowed collaboration and gratitude to be easy not only from a company standpoint but also by allowing team members to shout out to each other. We have a mixture of remote and on-site teams, so the platform makes it easy to navigate recognition.
I dislike that points expire after a certain period. I know it is to encourage giving recognition, but we also don't want to force it. The pulse survey feature is a bit limited in customization and analysis. Besides those two issues, I have no other cons.
I think they have really put time into ensuring the experience is top-tier. The platform structure compared to some of the others is what sold the company.

We used Deel as a payment processor for our international employees. The system is customizable to pay contractors on a weekly, bi-weekly or semi-monthly basis. We were able to pay some contractors weekly, and another group semi-monthly. The system also allows for you to submit payments on behalf of the contractor or out of their usual payroll cycle in an off-cycle payroll. Reimbursements could be paid out by the use of the off-cycle payroll. They could be paid immediately after approval by the admin or included in the next payroll cycle run.
I liked the customization of contracts. I liked that our contractors could manage their funds after they were available. It was very easy to get help and a solution through their chat feature or by phone with a representative.
We were in search of an international HRIS tool to employ our international contractors and full employees temporarily. We chose Deel due to the ease of onboarding, customization, and 0 dollar up front cost to onboard our international contractors. We used the platform on a weekly basis to onboard and pay our contractors for 6 months. I especially liked that once a contract ended we could still pay out hours via an off-cycle payroll. This was helpful if a contractor missed a timesheet submission deadline. Another benefit to the platform that our contractors favored was the ability to withdraw their funds in their currency of choice; or split payments into various currencies. Once timesheets were approved and processed from an administrative perspective, funds were available, in most cases within 24hrs to the contractors Deel account.
As we were considering hiring international employees we could only do so by paying upfront cost before onboarding them, this was not ideal for us. I did not like that I couldn't set a semi-monthly rate for a few of our contractors. Onboarding manager wasn't easy to reach for quick questions when onboarding contractors.
The management fees were lower and contractors had more control over their funds.
If you are hiring contractors or employees and how many. Have a solid understanding of what countries they are located in, as this affects the management fee. Also, management fees are paid each payroll, which could get costly, so be sure the contractor or employee is aware of their pay schedule.
